Who We Are
The Business Development Board is charged with bringing new, job-generating investments to the Palm Beach County community and assisting existing businesses with their efforts to expand. The BDB's economic development programs and services are partially funded through an annual contract with the Palm Beach county Board of County Commissioners. Additional funds are raised from private industry through membership dues and events.
During the 2008-2009 fiscal year, the BDB helped create or retain more than 1500 jobs and secure more than $38 million in capital investment for Palm Beach County.
During the past five years, the BDB has assisted companies that have created more than 7,700 direct jobs with average salaries greater than $55,400 resulting in more than $355 million in capital investment to Palm Beach County and an overall economic impact exceeding $1.8 Billion.
